On one side: sporty. On the other: individual. The M Performance air vent trim is made of high-quality carbon. Its dynamic design further emphasises the vehicle's sporty character. An elegant optical highlight for the side of the vehicle in robust BMW quality. With the BMW M2 logo.
The cutting and arrangement of the fabric layers, the curing process of the plastic matrix and the milling of the blanks takes several hours. A particular challenge is the subsequent painting. To reinforce the unique depth effect of the carbon fabric, the parts are painted several times. Each layer of paint must be dried and then sanded. After the final layer of paint has been applied, the carbon part is polished to a high gloss (except for porous carbon versions). The carbon parts are graded according to the current BMW standard. In this way it can be ensured that the high requirements, for example with regard to ageing and temperature resistance without crack formation or delamination of the substrate, are met and yellowing of the matrix is avoided.
