From the racetrack straight to the street: The exhaust system with lightweight valves and titanium rear silencer generates a highly emotional, racing-like sound. It was developed specifically for various BMW models.
The M Performance exhaust system lends the rear of the vehicle a distinctive, individual look. The perforated inner pipes display the highest level of high-tech, sportiness and emphasise the individual characteristics of the BMW M. The optimised exhaust gas routing reinforces the characteristic 6-cylinder biturbo sound and underlines the sporty driving feeling.
Sounds like performance: Various modes can be activated via the engine dynamics button that influence the performance of the exhaust system:
- Sport and Sport+ mode: Extremely emotional sound, very sporty, very loud, maximum performance.
- Efficient Mode: Sporty sound, noticeably more sporty and emotional compared to the series, but with residual comfort for uncompromising everyday use.
The exhaust system has been developed using the latest CAD and FEM technology. This guarantees optimum fit accuracy and manufacturing quality. The complete exhaust system is made in Germany. The original BMW M Performance exhaust system was developed and tested entirely at BMW in collaboration with the various specialist departments and BMW M GmbH.
