1. Cable preparation (main harness)

We connect the canbus box (black or red box) to the main harness of the screen.

(If applicable) We connect the female connector of the main harness to the socket corresponding to the number of pins.

(If applicable) We connect the female connector of the main harness to the socket corresponding to the number of pins.

We connect the main deck to the screen.

As you can see in the previous photo, we have 2 connectors left (large). Note what type of connector your BMW has and use the correct one. The remaining one must be insulated to avoid false contacts.

✏️ [Important] If your car has a standard screen, no connector will work, since it will have connectors like the following:

In this case, we isolate these 2 connectors (white and blue) and install the 6m cable from the trunk (in the tab shown in the image).

  • We disconnected the main harness that we had previously connected to the screen.
  • We locate the connector in the following photograph and disconnect it.

  • We connect the main harness using the appropriate connector of the two available to the connector we just disconnected.
  • We use the 6m cable to make the connection between the main harness and the screen.

✏️ [Important] If your BMW does not have a rear amplifier (i.e. we have an ISO connector) but it also has a blue connector on the radio side and the main harness of your Android screen comes with such a connector, you must connect the blue connector. Please note that when connecting it, it will break as shown in the following image, it is okay, it is normal.

2. Radio antenna

We connect the BMW radio cable to the indicated connector.

✏️ [Important] If your car has a FAKRA connector, you will need to use the adapter shown in the photograph.

3. GPS receiver antenna and 3/4/5G DATA

Make the connection as shown in the image and place the signal receiver preferably on the dashboard of the car in order to obtain good GPS coverage.

✏️ [Important] If this is your case and your Android screen comes with one or more elongated antennas other than the square GPS antenna, these are 3/4/5G and you must connect them to their respective connector (it is usually a screw-on connector like the GPS antenna) taking into account the label/name printed next to the connector. Place the signal receiver(s) preferably on the dashboard of the car in order to obtain good data coverage.

Next, once the data antennas have been installed, locate the next cable and insert the SIM card.

4. Additional RCA connectors (If applicable)

Make the connection as shown in the image.

✏️ [Important] If this is your case and the Android screen comes with a fan with a socket, connect it to the harness that we just connected using the corresponding male/female.

✏️ [Important] If this is your case and the Android screen comes with an external microphone, connect it to the female jack input called "MIC" on the harness we just connected.

4. USB ports

Make the connection as shown in the image and place the ports preferably in the glove compartment of your car in order to be able to connect external devices in an accessible way.

5. Additional RCA's (If this is your case and the connection port is not occupied)

Make the connection as shown in the image.

✏️ [Important] If this is not the case or the port is occupied, please store the excess cable in a safe place in case you need it in the future.

5. Rear camera connection

Make the connection as shown in the image.

Use the Yellow RCA cable labeled "BACK IN", "CAMERA", "REAR CAMERA"... and the cable labeled "BACK", "BREAKE", "BACK CAR"... to connect the RCA video input of the rear camera and the shutter release (Red cable) of the rear camera.

✏️ [Important] If you do not locate (because there is no) the trigger "BACK", "BREAKE", "BACK CAR" connect to the brown wire.

✏️ [Important] If your BMW has a standard rear camera, you should NOT install the rear camera

To proceed with the installation of the rear camera , refer to the corresponding manual.

6. Problems and solutions

  • The screen does not turn on.

Make a connection between the yellow and red wires as shown in the photo. DO NOT cut the wires, just strip 2-3mm of each wire and make the connection. Use insulating tape to avoid short circuits.
